Strategic Plan

Introducing RAM 2.0.

RAM’s newest five-year strategic plan, RAM 2.0: Creating the Future, reflects a commitment to artists working at the intersection of contemporary art, craft, design, and community making. It outlines how the museum will support creators, foster spaces for exploration, steward place, and navigate change—while strengthening RAM’s role as a vital resource for audiences, partners, and the broader public.

Plan Framework

The plan is organized around five interrelated pillars—People, Programs, Profile, Practices, and Place—which guide decision-making throughout the organization. Collectively, they establish priorities that translate into goals, strategies, and measurable outcomes, anchoring the museum’s work in accountability and alignment.

Across all pillars, RAM is committed to being open and inviting, dynamic and compelling, visible and known, responsible and mindful, and integral to community well-being. To advance these priorities, our major goals are to increase access, audience diversity, and guest satisfaction; deliver engaging and relevant content across platforms; strengthen public awareness and institutional cohesion; build organizational capacity and financial sustainability; and champion the museum as a vital economic and cultural asset.

Together, this core structure provides a disciplined framework for action—connecting daily work to long-term vision and ensuring measurable progress throughout the institution.

The Path Forward

RAM 2.0 emphasizes deepening connections with the communities we serve by meeting people where they are, removing barriers, and becoming a public “living room” for residents and visitors alike. By leveraging our impact in place and identity, culture and connection, health and sustainability, and innovation and enterprise, we aim to strengthen community bonds, support creative industry, and reflect the spirit of Racine.

By 2030, we envision a more sustainable and dynamic institution—one that brings pioneering artists into dialogue with today’s makers, centers its work on audiences, and is enriched by meaningful community relationships. Our plan is designed to build momentum and usher RAM into its next era.
