About the artwork.
Metalsmith Arline Fisch is best known for her introduction of weaving techniques into the field of contemporary jewelry, as exemplified by Woven Square Brooch. Fisch knits, weaves, crochets, braids, and plaits precious metals, creating supple textures and reflective planes. Fisch has most often considered the body as the destination for her pieces, emphasizing their wearability (comfort, flexibility, movement) as much as their formal aspects (ornament, form, color).
