About the artwork.
Like other weavers, basket makers, and fiber artists of his generation, Ed Rossbach not only experimented with unorthodox forms, as seen in the double-spouted basket vessel Twins, but also incorporated non-traditional, modern materials such as plastic, newspaper, and food wrappers. His work speaks to an older tradition of craft through the techniques he used, but his materials addressed issues of consumerism, commercialism, and excess.
