About the artwork.

Diné artist Christine Nofchissey McHorse worked in traditional styles of Indigeneous pottery until—after trying different forms and techniques of building—she came upon a direction that fueled her developing interests and established her as an innovator. McHorse used micaceous clay—which has a shimmering effect—to create unadorned sculptural forms such as Tubaform that allowed her to push the structural capabilities of the material.
