About the artwork.

Eleanor Moty first gained recognition for the use of cutting-edge fabrication techniques like electroplating and photoetching. Of her later jewelry, such as this Spatial Illusion brooch, which includes semi-precious imperfect stones and responds to the color and topography of natural landscapes, the artist says: “It’s not narrative, it’s not conceptual, it’s just purely visual: putting materials together in a very spare sense…but I always look at the land no matter where I am and appreciate something about it.”
