About the artwork.
Mexican ceramicist Gustavo Pérez first studied engineering and his interest in mathematics is evident in his vessels. Pérez works only with stoneware – creating pieces such as this untitled vessel that are inspired by ancient Mesoamerican forms as well as by minimalism and what he calls a “cocktail” of influences, including architecture, dance, literature, and music.
