About the artwork.
Racine native and internationally-recognized metalsmith Terri Gelenian-Wood was known for her tableware that combines high polish sterling silver with intensely colored industrial plastics—such as Corian® or Formica®—as seen in Salad Servers. Of her work, she stated: “Whether they are tools for eating and serving, or learning tools for contemplating the dynamics of relationships, they all express involvement among the viewer, the object, and the maker.”
