About the artwork.
Sonja Blomdahl is best known for the deep, rich hues of her hand-blown glass vessels. Prior to building her own studio in Seattle in the 1980s, Blomdahl discovered a way of working with glass that shaped her interest in the material. The incalmo technique—described as the joining together of two bubbles of glass—has become a hallmark for Blomdahl as she uses it to explore both color and form such as in Red/Yellow/Green Vessel.
