About the artwork.

Evelyn Patricia Terry uses non-representational imagery to convey feelings and thoughts. Of work such as this print, Terry states: “I am releasing and documenting my feelings through layers and blends of smeared and scribbled color.” The artist’s achievements beyond the studio as an art educator, writer, lecturer, curator, and community advocate also inform her practice. Significantly, she is also one of the founders of ABEA (African-American Artists Beginning to Educate Americans about African-American Art).
