About the artwork.
Jan Huling beads and embellishes forms, often dolls or animals, as seen in Jackie’s Nut. Her goal is to transform the everyday into, “spectacular, meaningful, hypnotic works of art.” To create patterns, Huling strings glass seed beads, lays them onto a form in a line of glue, and removes the string once the beads are in place. She designs spontaneously and allows each piece to grow as a meditation on color, form, pattern, and texture.
