About the artwork.
Sculptor and fiber artist Norma Minkowitz uses crochet to create interlaced sculptures which are then stiffened into hard mesh-like structures. Her work often makes statements about enclosures and entrapment. Minkowitz’s vessels typically take the form of human bodies, as seen in Hide Me which resembles a human torso, but also incorporate non-human elements such as geometric shapes or found twigs and branches.
