About the artwork.
Exploring themes of time, loss, labor, and ritual, Anne Wilson highlights handwork and everyday materials. Often valuing process and concept over representational imagery, Wilson uses textiles, threads, and fibers, among other media, to mine cultural and social exchange. With this work, part of a series, she used human hair like thread – not to repair a rupture in a household linen, but to highlight it.
