About the artwork.

Inspired by the natural world, Lee Weiss became nationally known for watercolors she produced during the second half of the twentieth-century. Shifting back and forth between macro and micro views of the landscape and its essence, Weiss experimented with her technique. She would paint on both sides of a piece of paper to introduce various textures and remove wet washes with a dry brush, as seen in Autumn Ridge.
