About the artwork.
Interested in themes of femininity, Ke-Sook Lee focuses her fiber practice on domestic themes and aspects of the natural world, often as metaphors and parallels to life experiences. Her work purposefully draws on generations of familial, female-oriented history. Pieces such as Apron #4: Seed Pods are heavily informed by childhood memories of female family members engaged in domestic work.
